Hi,
I'm currently working on a WW2 SAS style armored Jeep based around a 1944 dated Willys MB. It has normal springs (repro by the looks as look too new).
It leans to the drivers side at the rear and was investigating using a stronger / stiffer leaf spring, does anybody have experience good or bad of doping this. at a guess I think it about a 1/4 to 1/2 ton heavier than the standard Jeep?

If you have 8 leaf front and 9 leaf rears, why not upgrade to 10 leaf front and 11 leaf rear springs?
Also...even half-track guys I think have had to fake the "armor" on their vehicles, you could save a ton of weight (well, not that much!) by using a different metal to fabricate your "armored enclosure".

I use service replacement springs from Ron on my MB. Even with new springs, my MB started to lean left again. I added a full length leaf to my left rear spring pack and that fixed it up. If you're going to add 500 - 1000 lb of weight then extra leaves might be a good way to go.
