Re: What's wrong with g503.com?
Search is a problem for me also. Just came home from TP and it is giving me the same message.
hit and miss...
What happens is I post... as I did now and go to the board index so that I can continue looking at the pages of new posts.
Well, I get this, "Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes."
So, I have to go to another forum and must wait 10 minutes or so to come back here and read the new posts.
Fix this please!

Yeah. I was a little overly optimistic. It worked last night and same old problem this morning.

That's not the same symptom. I'm not working on that right now. I'm only working onartificer wrote:Lasted 1/2 a day unfortunately message still the same "Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes" the more things change they stay the same....
"Sorry but the board is temporarily unavailable, please try again in a few minutes."
once that's ironed out I'll look at
"Sorry but you cannot use search at this time. Please try again in a few minutes"

Re: What's wrong with g503.com?
I saw the "Board is unavailable" message once a few months ago, but not since. The only problem I see is the one caused by my use of dial-up service. Even that hasn't bothered me much lately. Am I just lucky these days?
Is it true real Jeeps have flat fenders?

Re: What's wrong with g503.com?
Board seems to be fine for me right now; in fact faster loading than ever. Regarding the error message (board unavailable), I started getting those around the 17th; the forum was totally offline for me for about 10 hours one day. I checked then, and had NO problems accessing JeepDraw or Ron's parts site; so the error was definitely in the forum. It sounds like a database error. Might want to to a recount/rebuild and see if that helps.
Hmm, I clicked 'Submit' to post and it did nothing. Second time it went through.
Only complaint; it takes the system forever to log me out.

Re: What's wrong with g503.com?
The week before last we had two database table corruptions
with the resulting server lock within a fairly short period of time.
Not good coming up to the Tower Park trip so I implemented
the beginnings of a maintenance script that I have
been thinking about for a while. It runs every hour and
checks/repairs certain tables in the db of any errors.
The server resource usage immediately went from jagged peaks
to smooth hills when viewed in the 10-minute intervals.
Typical values throughout the day would range between perhaps
8 to 18 percent CPU utilization with occasional peaks to 22.
Last Thursday, presumably because of the TP meet, the numbers
were in the upper twenties peaking at 34. The G is the only
site on this server. No email, DNS or other services. In comparison,
one of our other servers, which hosts about 50 accounts, including
jeepdraw.com and jeepfabrikken.no, varies between 0.35 to 1.5 percent
CPU utilization.
It looks like this increase in server load triggered some
auto-disable settings that are built into the forum software.
I believe Chris has increased some values in those settings
so hopefully they won't get triggered again.
The good news is that the maintenance script probably helped
the database survive the flood of activity without going down.
