Battleship Expo is a series of weekend open houses while the USS Iowa is in Richmond getting painted prior to the tow to San Pedro to be a museum around March 1. MVs of all eras are invited to display every weekend and they have created a temporary museum in a warehouse building with battleship info and MV displays by Military Vehicle Technology Foundation and Alameda Naval Air Museum. The Military Vehicle Collectors of California has hosted the largest annual MV event in the West since 1977! This is the incarnation of the Big Bear and Patterson meets. Location is the Stockton/Delta KOA, 6 miles west of I-5 on State Route 12. For pro and amateur vendors this is low cost - like FREE at your large, paid campsite! NO admission charge. NO MV registration fee. Shady, grassy sites. Inexpensive dry camping option and living history units are encouraged. Expanded parking now on the levee! Special 2012 displays being planned are, "Concours d'Eleguns - MVs with Mounted or Towed Ordnance," "Engineer & Work Vehicles," and "All IHC Motor Pool." Also Madames Afternoon Social, Friday Night Raffle & Party, restaurant with bar, marina, boat ramp, store. The seventeenth annual meeting of the Military Radio Collectors Group West will be held at the NCO Club, Camp San Luis Obispo , California from May 3rd to May 5th , 2012. Events will formally begin at 0800 Friday morning,but early arrivals are welcome in the late afternoon, after 1800, on Thursday, May 3rd. Registration will be open at 1800 Thursday evening. This is a active military base and when you enter the security check in you will have to show your drivers license , vehicle registration and proof of auto insurance.

Huntsville has many sights to see with the NASA Space and Rocket center, Space camp, Veteran's Memorial Museum, Antique stores, Point Mallard Decatur, Al.home of the First Wave Pool in America on the Tennessee River, the Huntsville-Madison County Botanical Garden, the Weeden House Museum, The Burritt Museum, Old Railroad Museum, and the Huntsville Museum of Art, all easily accessible by the hourly downtown trolley. All military vehicles from any era are welcome to join up. Drive all or part of the route. Make history again. 4 weeks. 3,046 miles. A once in a lifetime trip.
